Prather
Racing Scores Triple Wins at Mid-America
PACIFIC
JUNCTION,
Iowa
(August 2, 2007) – Prather Racing kept rolling July 29 at
Mid-America Motorplex, scoring a trio of wins at the SCCA Club Racing MVRG
National race.
Kent Prather got back on track after a couple of
disappointing races to take his third G Production National win of 2007 in
the Prather Racing/Moss Motors MGA.
Kent
started third on the grid after a damp qualifying session and quickly
moved to the lead, past defending National Champion Chuck Mathis in a VW.
Kent and Chuck traded the lead twice before Chuck found a surprise mud bog
kicked up from a Spec Racer and slid off course.
Kent
continued on, bettering his old lap record by 0.6-second, en route to the
win.
Starting right behind the G Production battle were a
trio of Prather Racing-prepared F Production cars, with Andy Hauck and Bob
Bramlage having a good battle in their Miatas. Bob led early, but Andy
made the pass for the lead mid-race and was able to slowly work up to a
five-second lead in the end. Ron Davis finished third in his Prather
Racing MGB.
It was Hauck’s second win on the day, as he also
scored a dominating GT-2 win in his Porsche.
With two races remaining in SCCA Club Racing
competition, Prather Racing-prepared cars now hold the top four positions
in F Production points (
Eric Prill
,
Jesse Prather
, Bob Bramlage and Andy Hauck) with eight wins in nine races.
Kent Prather is now second in G Production points
with his three wins, moving out of a tie with Mathis.
The final SCCA National Club race for Prather Racing
will be Aug. 18-19 at Heartland Park Topeka on the new course
configuration that will be used for this year’s Runoffs.
